In Lesson 1.3.1, you briefly looked at the five main criteria to improve your Task Achievement score which are: 1) Task Response, 2) Appropriateness of Tone, 3) Clarity & Development, 4) Relevant Details, and 5) Clear Purpose.
Let's take a closer look at Task Response and Relevant Details.
Task Response
Task Response (or Task Fulfillment) is a crucial part of Task Achievement in IELTS General Training Writing Task 1 because it directly affects how well you answer the given task. More specifically, each task includes a situation and three bullet points that must be covered. If you don’t fully address all parts of the task (or all three bullets), your score will be limited as your response is incomplete no matter how good your grammar or vocabulary is.
Relevant Details
Closely interlinked with Task Response, you need to ensure that the specific information you provide to support your main points is relevant to the prompt you are writing about. These details help develop your ideas, make your letter clear and persuasive, and show your ability to communicate effectively in English.
