For the General Writing Task 1, you can be asked any of the following types of tasks:

1. Request Information
2. Give Personal or Factual Information
3. Explain a Problem or Situation.
4. Explain Wants or Needs
5. Thank you / Invitation
6. Complain About a Service
7. Make a Suggestion or Recommend Something
8. Apology
