Conestoga - ECE2160 - Philosophy in Practice
About this Development
This course was designed as a conceptually driven online course within the Early Childhood Education program, using the analogy of an oak tree to scaffold students’ understanding of teaching philosophy development. The instructional framework traces growth from foundational beliefs (roots), to professional identity (trunk), pedagogical strategies and community engagement (branches), and observable daily practice (leaves). The course integrates two custom animated videos, original illustrations, and structured callouts to support cognitive organization, enhance learner engagement, and visually reinforce key theoretical and reflective concepts.
